]]>Everyone cherishes holiday traditions. Whether it's visiting family, placing candles in windows, or crafting homemade gifts. They hold significance in any holiday celebration. Older family members or grandparents traditionally initiate these customs, passing them down through generations. While we honor and celebrate them, they remain open to change, evolution, and growth over the years. Furthermore, we are constantly establishing new traditions.
Creating new holiday traditions fosters meaningful connections and enduring memories with loved ones. Whether it involves a unique gift-giving ritual, a special recipe, or a fun activity, these practices evoke warmth and a sense of belonging.
Begin by brainstorming activities that resonate with your family's interests and values. Incorporate elements that promote togetherness and joy. Consistency in observing these traditions is key, as it reinforces their significance. Personalize them by documenting them through photos or a journal. Embrace the opportunity to infuse creativity and innovation into your festivities, ensuring that these new cherished customs endure for generations to come.

Before it was a federal holiday, Labor Day was recognized by labor activists and individual states. American labor has raised the nation’s standard of living and contributed to the most significant production the world has ever known. The labor movement has brought us closer to realizing our traditional ideals of economic and political democracy. Therefore it is more than appropriate that this nation pays tribute on Labor Day to the creator of its strength, freedom, and leadership- the American worker.

]]>
Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1908, founded by Anna Marie Jarvis in the United States. The start of Mother’s Day as we know it now was actually started by Anna Jarvis’ mother, Ann Jarvis. Ann Jarvis started a Mother’s Day Work Club to teach local women how to care for their children.
In 1868 she organized a committee for Mother's Friendship Day: a day for mothers to gather with former Union and Confederate soldiers to promote reconciliation. Ann Jarvis wanted it to be an annual memorial for mothers however, she died in 1905 before the annual celebrations actually were established.
By 1912 Mother’s Day would be celebrated annually in many states and towns and in 1914 President Wilson signed a measure that established Mother’s Day as an official annual celebration on the second Sunday of May.
Later in life, Anna Jarvis did not appreciate the commercialization of Mother’s Day. This year, celebrate Mother’s Day the old-fashioned way at Cambridge Park Apartments. You don’t need flowers and fancy dinners to show appreciation for your Mom this year. Create homemade cards, make her breakfast in bed, or do some extra chores around the house, for example. Figure out the best ways to celebrate your Mother at no cost this year.

]]>The best tip for spring cleaning is to break larger tasks into small chores. For example, work room by room to focus your energy. Another way to do this would be to complete one type of chore at a time. Such as doing all of the dusting or all of the vacuuming at once.
Next, focus on practical organization. Everyone has seen those videos online of fabulously organized refrigerators and nightstands, but they are not always practical. This year, focus on organization with practicality and usefulness.
Along with the usual chores, use this time to properly put away anything you only need for winter, like heavy coats. Then turn your attention to deep cleaning- cleaning parts of your space that are often forgotten, such as baseboards, shower curtains, and window dressings.
See spring cleaning as an opportunity for a fresh start Cambridge Park Apartment residents, not a daunting task.
